Dr. Satish Kanamadi
He is presently serving as Librarian at Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai. His areas of interest are Web resources, Cataloguing and Metadata, Digital Library Systems, Knowledge Management, etc. His research contributions include over 40 journal articles, edited volumes, book chapters, etc. He has been the coordinator for several workshops, conferences and UGC refresher courses.
Dr. Satish is a distinguished librarian and faculty who has been conferred with Two Gold Medals for achieving First Rank at Masters (1995) and UGC Junior Research Fellowship (1997). He is a science graduate and has completed his master’s and doctoral studies from Karnataka University, Dharwad.
In September 2010, he was awarded Commonwealth Professional Fellowship, UK and was a Commonwealth Fellow at London School of Economics, London, UK for three months.
He is also the Chairperson of Centre for Library and Information Management Studies(CLIMS) at TISS., which offers a cutting edge dual mode PG Diploma in Digital Library and Information Management (PGDLIM), Master of Library and Information Science (MLISc) and PhD. He is involved in teaching at all 3 programmes.
Research Experience:
- He is recognised as PhD Research Supervisor at TISS and so far 7 schoars were awarded and another 4 are pursuing PhD under his supervision.
- He is on the referee panel of University of Pune, SNDT University Mumbai, Tilak Maharashtra Vidyapeeth Pune, Karnataka University Dharwad, and others.
He is a Liasion Librarian for School of Research Methods and conducts workshops on Academic Integrity, Research Skills, within TISS and outside
